I founded C2 Capital in March 2016 and led it through five years of capital management and property work before resigning as its Managing Director on 1 March 2021. That closed one chapter and forced a question I couldn't avoid: what is a business, in the world that's actually coming?
I'm Not the Only One Asking This
There are a lot of us: people who built careers and businesses under one set of rules, watching everything we knew get turned on its head. If you're in that group, especially if you're past 40 and wondering whether decades of experience is now an asset or a liability, I want to be direct: it's still an asset. It just needs a new architecture to run on.
Success-Modelling the Old Against the New
Since then, I've been deep in what's actually possible now, without throwing out everything that came before. I spent that time success-modelling the parts of the old playbook that still hold against the new paradigm, testing them against what's actually changed rather than assuming either "none of it matters anymore" or "none of it needs to change." What survived that process became the 8 Priorities, and V1 Scale, the venture-building ecosystem I run today.
VERA and the A-Suite
At V1 Scale, I pioneered SynAgentics, an operating framework where human Visioneers work alongside an A-Suite of digital citizens, including VERA, the Digital CEO, as organisational peers rather than software tools. It's the practical expression of Evolution 5 (E5): the shift from E4, where humans directed software, to E5, where human intentionality orchestrates agentic execution.
